Rebecca's Burning Question
My buring question is the following:
Is journaling an effective tool to use with students who have emotional and social needs?
I am trying to connect this question back to writing and started with the following:
How can I motivate students with social and emotional needs?
Please give me any feedback that you can.
Thanks!
Rebecca

There is a great book about Web 2.0 for educators that David Warlick and some others published, I wrote about it at http://coolcatteacher.blogspot.com/2006/05/must-read-free-web-20-book-for.html
In there, there is a chapter by an amazing woman who used blogging with special needs children with at risk behaviors. I believe it was 8th grade girls. It is in the last 1/4th of the book. I would suggest printing out the book and flipping through it to find it. It is worth the read and will answer your burning question!
You are doing a great job!

Wow! That is awesome! Vicki replied to your blog post here. She is well respected, and you will find both her and the free book she mentioned in the post I made last week about blogs.
It just shows you how we truly are part of a connected, global conversation. Make sure you tell Pete about this. He will love it!

Thank you responding. I am eager to read the book you suggested. I am new to the blogger world and think that this is an excellent way to gain knowledge from teachers. We are truly all in this boat together! Technology is a wonderful thing and I will continue to explore ways to use it in ways that I feel comfortable.
